Day 1 – Monday 30th November 2026: Heading to the Riviera for Christmas Cheer*
Today marks the start of your festive getaway. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the journey as we make our way south. By late afternoon we arrive at our welcoming hotel, where you’ll check in and settle into your room. In the evening, the fun begins with the first night of our Turkey and Tinsel celebrations – complete with a delicious festive dinner and seasonal entertainment to get you into the holiday spirit. It’s the perfect start to a magical break filled with laughter, good company, and plenty of Christmas cheer.
Day 2 – Tuesday 01st December 2026: Carols, Crafts & Christmas Cheer in Exeter
Enjoy a magical festive day out with a visit to the Exeter Cathedral Christmas Market, set against the stunning backdrop of the city’s magnificent gothic Cathedral. Wander through over 100+ charming wooden chalets offering artisan gifts, seasonal crafts, and tempting festive treats, while the air is filled with the scent of mulled wine and roasted chestnuts. Beyond the market, Exeter itself is brimming with history and character – explore the awe-inspiring interior of the Cathedral, stroll along the atmospheric Quayside with its independent shops or discover treasures at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum. Whether you’re shopping for unique Christmas gifts, soaking up the seasonal atmosphere, or taking in Exeter’s rich heritage, today promises a perfect blend of festive sparkle and cultural discovery.
Day 3 – Wednesday 02nd December 2026: Tea, Tranquillity & Torquay by Twilight
Today offers the perfect balance of relaxation and festive cheer. Spend the morning at leisure, exploring Torquay’s shops, harbour, and sparkling seasonal displays at your own pace. At lunchtime, we’ll come together to enjoy a delicious festive afternoon tea, complete with seasonal treats and plenty of Christmas spirit – our treat to you.
Early evening brings a truly unforgettable festive highlight. As we step aboard the Dartmouth Steam Railway’s magical Christmas Train of Lights – a heritage steam train that becomes a dazzling spectacle after dark. Watch in awe as the carriages, trackside scenes, and surrounding countryside are illuminated by thousands of sparkling lights and stunning displays, creating a winter wonderland like no other. From the moment the vintage engine steams out of Paignton, you’ll be treated to a journey filled with colour, twinkling installations, and festive cheer, all set against the charm of South Devon’s coastline. It’s a unique experience that combines the nostalgia of steam travel with the magic of Christmas and is sure to be a highlight of your holiday.
Day 4 – Thursday 03rd December 2026: Miniatures, Monks & Magical Lights
Today brings a delightful mix of festive charm and timeless heritage. We begin with a visit to the enchanting Babbacombe Model Village, which at Christmas is transformed into a miniature winter wonderland. Wander through beautifully lit gardens where tiny scenes are brought to life with twinkling illuminations, festive displays, and charming details that capture the magic of the season. After exploring this unique attraction, we continue to the serene Buckfast Abbey, a working Benedictine monastery nestled on the edge of Dartmoor. Here you can admire the striking Abbey church with its magnificent stained glass, stroll through peaceful gardens, and soak up the sense of calm and spirituality that makes Buckfast so special. Also included is the “Monastic Way” exhibition. a captivating, immersive experience, offering a sensory-rich journey through Benedictine history-from its early origins to modern-day monastic life. The Abbey also offers a welcoming restaurant and tearoom, the perfect spot to enjoy a meal or light refreshment before we return. As dusk settles, the magic truly begins with a journey by coach along the Bay of Lights Illumination Trail, where Torquay’s seafront comes alive in a dazzling display of colour, sparkle, and festive wonder. A truly memorable way to round off a special day on the English Riviera.
Day 5 – Friday 04th December 2026: Cherished Memories, Homeward Journeys*
Day 5 begins with a hearty breakfast to set you up for the day, before we check out of the hotel and bid farewell to the beautiful English Riviera. With festive memories made and new friendships formed, we relax and enjoy the comfortable journey home, complete with comfort stops along the way. It’s the perfect ending to a wonderful Turkey & Tinsel break, leaving you with plenty of Christmas cheer to take back with you.
