Day 2 – Tuesday 02nd June 2026: A Journey Through Time & Motion
This morning begins with free time to explore the charming coastal town of Bo’ness, where cobbled streets, pretty shopfronts, and views across the Firth of Forth set the scene. Next, step back in time as you board the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway for a delightful 10-mile return journey to Manuel aboard a lovingly restored heritage steam train. Sit back and relax as the train steams through woodlands, alongside the Forth Estuary, past hidden waterfalls, and across the impressive Avon Viaduct - all while soaking up the nostalgic sounds and sights of classic railway travel. It’s a magical way to experience the scenic beauty of central Scotland. After the train ride, your coach will be waiting to take you to one of Scotland’s most innovative landmarks -the Falkirk Wheel. This incredible feat of modern engineering is the world’s only rotating boat lift, connecting the Forth & Clyde Canal with the Union Canal. Watch as boats are gently lifted 35 metres into the air in a smooth, graceful arc, replacing a network of 11 traditional locks. You’ll have the chance to enjoy a ride on the Wheel itself, giving you a unique view of the surrounding landscape while experiencing the engineering marvel first-hand.
Todays a day of contrasts; from timeless steam travel to 21st-century innovation - with stunning Scottish scenery throughout.
