Day 1 – Monday 11th May 2026 - Castles, Cobblestones & Culinary Delights*
Your royal escape begins with a relaxing journey down to the historic town of Windsor. Upon arrival, you’ll check in to the elegant Castle Hotel, perfectly located right in the heart of town and just steps from the world-famous Windsor Castle.
This afternoon, exploring Windsor at your leisure offers a charming mix of history, culture, and natural beauty beyond the iconic castle. Wander along the picturesque Long Walk, a tree-lined avenue perfect for a peaceful stroll or picnic with views stretching into Windsor Great Park. Browse the boutique shops and cafes in Windsor Royal Station, a beautifully restored Victorian railway station. Take a relaxing boat trip along the River Thames or cross the bridge into Eton to admire the historic college and quaint high street. With its elegant streets, riverside views, and welcoming atmosphere, Windsor is a perfect place to unwind and soak up English heritage at your own pace.
If you’ve chosen the optional extra to explore Windsor Castle, you’re in for a truly memorable experience. Step inside the official residence of His Majesty the King and marvel at the grandeur of the State Apartments, adorned with exquisite art and lavish furnishings. Don’t miss St George’s Chapel, the stunning Gothic masterpiece that has hosted royal weddings and houses the tombs of monarchs including Queen Elizabeth II and Henry VIII. Walk through centuries of history and soak in the majesty of one of Britain’s most iconic landmarks.
In the evening, Windsor offers a wide range of excellent dining options from traditional pubs full of character to stylish restaurants serving everything from classic British fare to global cuisine. Alternatively, enjoy a relaxing meal in the Castle Hotel’s own restaurant, where refined dishes are served in an elegant setting. (We recommend pre-booking to avoid disappointment.) Whether dining out or staying in, your first evening in Windsor promises to be both delicious and memorable.
Day 2 – Tuesday 12th May 2026 - Leisure, Legacy & a Taste of Royalty*
Enjoy a relaxed start to the day before heading out to explore Windsor at your own pace. At 11am, don't miss the Changing of the Guard, a colourful and time-honoured tradition that brings royal pageantry to the castle grounds. The rest of the day is yours to discover hidden gems. In the afternoon, why not indulge in an optional extra Royal Afternoon Tea back at the hotel? It’s the perfect way to savour the elegance of Windsor one last time before your journey home.
